A thick organic black denim twill that comes unwashed, so please bare this in mind and wash before use. The black denim fabric itself has a strong weave structure that makes it particularly durable and suitable for soft furnishings, as well as that it has a fantastic drape. The fabric also has some give in the bias, so it is fantastic for figure hugging garments too. As the black denim is a hand-woven fabric, there are some small weaving irregularities. What is more, the dyes used are azo-free, and the cotton used to weave the denim is both organic and biodegradable. The spinning, weaving and dying of the black denim is done in a cooperative and is certified Fair Trade by the WFTO. As the black denim is a hand-made product, the process uses virtually no electricity – including in the spinning process! It will soften a little in the wash and creases iron out easily. We also have this fabric in light blue and dark blue.
