A classic but luxurious-looking black organza fabric made using Global Recycle Standard-certified recycled polyester yarn that comes from post-consumer polyeser clothing using the RENU™ technology.

This recycled textile has a sparkle to both sides due to the nature of how the yarn is processed and fabric woven. Along with the crispness of both the yarn and weave, this is how organza attains its characteristic stiffness. This version is actually very soft on the skin, slippy and bounces back easily when crinkled (it does leave minor creasing). Polyester organza also has a classic moiré rippled appearance when moved about in the light, which does give this particular fabric a luxurious feel and appearance.

Suitable for bridalwear, partywear, fashion, millinery, crafts as well as linings. It could also be used in interiors as blinds or room separators, table runners and pelmets. As it is soft on the skin, it could also be used for certain lingerie like soft bras.

This fabric is made in China with Japanese Quality Control Inspection and traceability system.

Sustainability:

Recycled materials ensure that post-consumer waste is utilised rather than virgin resources. As this is 100% polyester, it can be recycled again (in the right system).

GRS (Global Recycle Standard) is an international, voluntary, full product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions. The production facility is GRS-certified for all recycled fabrics in their range.

This recycled fibre comes from the RENU™ project. In comparison to virgin-derived polyster, RENU™ can reduce water, reduce CO2 emissions, and also take waste material from clothing (which they also use for some of their materials).

To care for your product:

Suitable for the washing machine and cool tumble drying, but we recommend cooler washing and air drying to protect the life of the synthetic fibre.

Turn the machine down to 30 degrees for a more environmentally friendly wash. In Europe alone, if every household turned its washing temperature down to 30°C, we could save 12 million tons of CO2 a year. We recommend line drying as this reduces energy usage and looks after your textiles for longer. Use a mild detergent, light botanical refresher or even just steam the item you've made in your bathroom after a shower. This particular fabric springs back nicely, but iron if necessary on a low heat temperature.
