Double-Sided Dark Blue Denim Fairtrade & Handwoven250-SDF-DBLUDouble-S
A thick organic denim twill which is typical of dark blue denim jeans. The organic denim has been yarn-dyed (the yarn is dyed before it is woven) with a combination of several blue hues, from darker Columbia blue to a lighter almost baby blue colour and a white yarn. This method gives the organic denim a stunning depth of colour. The organic denim also has a strong twill weave structure that makes it particularly durable, suitable for soft furnishings and gives it a fantastic drape. What is more, there is some give in the bias, so the fabric is ideal for figure hugging garments. As the organic denim is hand-woven, there are some small weaving irregularities, but this does not affect either the look or quality of the fabric. The dyes used are azo-free, and the cotton used to weave the denim is organic and totally biodegradable. The spinning, weaving and dyeing of the organic denim is done in a cooperative and certified Fair Trade by the WFTO. As it is a hand-made product, the process uses virtually no electricity - including in the spinning process! We also have this fabric in light blue and dark blue. Please wash before use.
