This luxurious, hand-woven fabric is a natural undyed white that deepens in hue when layered to a cloudy white shade. It is exclusively hand-crafted by an innovative co-operative in Cambodia, where master local craftsmanship is combined with exquisite, contemporary design. We have this fabric in eight colours: navy, purple, turquoise, two-tone purple, black, grey and cream. It is ideal for clothing, particularly evening dresses and for interior decoration: trims and ornamental curtains.

It is a beautifully delicate, hand crafted textile made from mulberry silk fibres, with a gorgeous, featherweight feel and a structured body and handle. We have this fabric in eight colours: navy, white, turquoise, two-tone purple, black, grey and cream. It is ideal for clothing, particularly evening dresses, avant garde fashion, couture trims, millinery and embroidery, and for interior decoration: trims and ornamental curtains.

Ethical production:

Produced in a WFTO certified co-operative, the 100% natural mulberry silk textile requires no additives, and no bleaches or finishes have been used - better for people and planet. Mulberry silk means that the Bombyx Mori silkworms have been cultivated on a diet of solely mulberry leaves, creating a fine naturally white silk fibre deeming bleaching and dyeing unnecessary. Please note, mulberry silk is not a peace silk as the worms do not emerge out of the cocoon as a moth. However, the cultivation looks to the best animal welfare standards and quality feeding, along with fair trade practices for the spinners and weavers. The fabric is hand woven using a patented Cambodian technique.

With an almost zero-carbon production footprint, its traditional, handmade qualities offer a unique exclusivity combined with animal rights and sustainability.

Silk is biodegradable (in the right anaerobic conditions) so at the end of its life can be composted. Silk is also an incredibly strong fibre that will last for a very long time anyway, so along with non-certified organic cultivation and processing, this fabric is beneficial to the land before and after its production. The dye used is non-carcinogenic containing no heavy metals (DyStar).

To care for your product:

We recommend eco-friendly dry cleaning to protect the natural lignin gum that gives organza its stiffness. Otherwise, hand wash rather than using a delicate machine wash cycle, but please note that washing does change the texture making it crinkly until ironed. If in doubt, you can always hang up any item made with this textile in your bathroom after a shower for the steam to help release any odours and creasing. It is also beneficial to avoid any acidic substances such as citrus and some deodorants that can eat away and discolour the fibre.

Ideal For:

Blinds, Blouses, Bridalwear & Eveningwear, Christening, Fashion, Gowns, Embroidery, Hand Sewing, Machine Sewing, Millinery, Summer Skirts & Dresses, Underwear & Lingerie, Wedding

Lovely product, disappointing colour

This fabric is exactly what I wanted however the colour is nothing like the picture on the website. The 'white' is very much 'cream' and I have already suggested the company that they change the picture as it is misleading. The fabric is good quality so if you're looking for a deep cream colour and not white (as per the picture and description) it is ideal.

- Note from Offset Warehouse:
Hi Sally, thank you so much for your review. We truly value your feedback. We're so sorry you were disappointed with the colour of this fabric. As it's completely hand made and hand dyed, the colours can vary from batch to batch - and batches are only around 30m in length. While we try to control this as much as we can, it's very difficult to ensure each batch is identical to the original fabric, and as they're such small quantities, we're onto a different batch by the time we've updated the photo! In this case the batch used for your order was not as white as our previous lot, and more of an off-white colour (somewhere between white and the cream peace silk organza" we sell). Of course we also update our swatches to showcase the colour so if you are ever in doubt then please do order a swatch beforehand. I also discussed this issue with Jaime and believe you would like to keep the fabric but if you're still at all disappointed with the colour you can return it to us and we can of course refund you in full. Thank you so much again.
