Handwoven Hand Embroidered Spotty Muslin - Navy/Orange

Handwoven Hand Embroidered Spotty Muslin - Navy/Orange

Regular price Sale price £2.50

A stunning, lightweight, handwoven navy fabric with spots in burnt orange, lemon yellow and white.

Price is per metre. Multiple quantities will be cut as a continuous length.

A beautiful, fine, handwoven fabric in a deep navy, peppered with embroidered-look spots (which are in fact, woven into the material in a hand-weave technique called "Jamdani"). It's warm to the touch and exquisitely smooth with a soft handle and drape. The fabric is 45"/110cm wide and approximately 62gsm, so it is lightweight and suitable for projects, particularly for summer garments, including blouses, shirts, easy loungewear, summer trousers and dresses, light blankets and quilts, sheer blinds and accessories. You may like to line or double up the fabric if you're making garments.

Ethical and Sustainability Considerations:

The fabric is handwoven by weavers on wooden handlooms in Burdwan, West Bengal. The material is woven within a community known as a "khadi cluster" in Bengal. The weavers set their prices for their work.

Fabric that is produced within the same country prevents unnecessary shipping during production. The dyes used for the material are azo-free and ironable.

To care for your product:

Suitable for washing machines and tumble dryers. Wash with similar colours. To protect fabrics for longer, hand wash in cool water. Turn the machine down to 30 degrees for a more environmentally friendly wash. In Europe alone, if every household turned its washing temperature down to 30°C, we could save 12 million tons of CO2 a year. Suitable for irons med-hot temperature. We recommend line drying as this reduces energy usage and looks after your textiles for longer (as they don't get bashed around in your tumble dryer). Use a mild detergent, light botanical refresher or even steam the item you've made in your bathroom after a shower.

Natural, handwoven fabrics have a tendency to shrink 3-5%, so please wash this textile before you sew.

Wholesale And Restocking

Stepped pricing is available on 25 metres and over, so please inquire if you are looking for large amounts. We love working with smaller brands: purchase one metre and upwards directly from the website and email us for wholesale quantities for bulk production when you're ready. We welcome large and small orders from brands of all sizes.

Please note

Please note that refunds are not possible once fabrics have been cut, unless in the unfortunate event that your material arrives damaged. Please order a swatch before purchasing your metre lengths. Please see our Refunds and Cancellation Policy page.

Due to the nature of handwoven and hand-printed fabrics, there can be irregularities in the weave and print, along with variations in batch dye colour. We have quality controlled this fabric. However, there could be minor irregularities that are part of the beauty and charm of handwoven products. If you are at all unhappy with the material you purchase, please let us know, and we'll do our best to rectify it immediately: info@offsetwarehouse.com.

Lovely fabrics, but availability and measurements are not always accurate

Lovely fabrics and really good personable email contact from the Offset Warehouse team. My only complaint would be that the website is not always up to date with quantity and can lead to being disappointed. Also the piece of spotty muslin I bought was 15cm off at one side and I had to rethink on the planned pattern and make a different top.
Happy with the end result and I do love the fabric but annoying at the time.
