Ecru rubber tape, 18mm wide.
50% organic cotton, 50% natural rubber. Natural and unbleached.
Elasticity is 110%.
Depth: 1.1mm.
This is a woven elastic tape.
Tranverse means that it is stable, and so better suited to heavy duty fabrics or where additional structure and control is required. This width is also available in a lighter version better suited to shirting and jersey, and a less strong version suited to medium-heavy fabrics such as denim.
Organic cotton is grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilisers, which means it is better for people and planet. Natural rubber is an existing resource that helps fuel local economies and prevent deforestation, without the need for synthetic polymers. It comes from Malaysian plantations where child labour is not used.

Blended together, this organic cotton and natural rubber elastic is kinder to the planet and better for your skin. It also prevents any possible nasty fibres washing away into our water. The organic cotton comes from Turkey. Production is conducted in Austria.
*Biodegradable; This elastic is unusual as it's 100% biodegradable. Elastic is usually made of synthetic polymers, which do not biodegrade and so continue to pollute the environment when thrown away. Of course, it won't start to biodegrade while you wear it! To kick start the bacteria needed to break down the material, ensure it is composted when it is eventually discarded (hopefully after many many years of love and use).
This rubberband is washable up to 40°C (104°F) and will shrink up to 5% in the first wash. We always recommend washing before sewing (in a load with like colours is absolutely fine) and to consider purchasing a touch more than you'll need - it's bound to come in handy. Do not tumble dry.
Clothes and accessories. Particularly good for cuffs and waistbands where you want structure. It could also be used in upholstery under seat pads.
Use it with all heavy fabrics, such as denim and canvas.
