Beautiful, smooth, lightweight herringbone wool in latte cream and mocha. Woven from 90% recycled wool and 10% mixed recycled fibres.
The fabric is soft, supple and drapes beautifully. It's matt and warm and fully reversible. It's completely opaque, mediumweight, and suitable for a range of garments from winter trousers to summer jackets. Also suitable for soft furnishings and interiors, such as cushion covers or lightweight blankets.
Recycling wool can be a challenge as the fibres can be too short to respin. Our solution is to blend recycled wool with longer mixed fibres saved from landfill to create a soft and durable yarn, which is woven in a dense twill weave and brushed for texture. All the benefits of wool, in a sustainable textile. Learn More about the Recycled Wool process here.

The cotton is grown locally using traditional organic processes, which means no chemical fertilisers, pesticides, or herbicides have been used in the cultivation. It also means that the farmers are using their own seeds rather than GMOs. This is beneficial for farmers and the land.
The fabric is woven within a community of 75 female artisans in Uttarakhand, India. For nine years, they have been working to promote the craft and natural fibres of the area by using locally-grown and foraged crops.

Suitable for washing machines below 30°C and tumble dryers, although due to the intricate, loose weave, we would recommend handwashing only. To protect fabrics for longer, hand wash in cool water. Suitable for irons med-hot temperature.
Turn the machine down to 30 degrees for a more environmentally friendly wash. In Europe alone, if every household turned its washing temperature down to 30°C, we could save 12 million tons of CO2 a year.
We also recommend line drying as this reduces energy usage and looks after your textiles for longer (as they don't get bashed around in your tumble dryer). Use a mild detergent, light botanical refresher or even steam the item you've made in your bathroom after a shower.
Natural handwoven fabrics have a natural tendency to shrink 3-5%, so please wash this textile before you create any products that will require washing at a later date.
Stepped pricing is available on 25 metres and over, so please inquire if you are looking for large amounts. We love working with smaller brands: purchase one metre and upwards directly from the website and email us for wholesale quantities for bulk production when you're ready. We welcome large and small orders from brands of all sizes.
Please note that refunds are not possible once fabrics have been cut, unless in the unfortunate event that your material arrives damaged. Please order a swatch before purchasing your metre lengths. Please see our Refunds and Cancellation Policy page for full details.
Due to the nature of handwoven and hand-printed fabrics, there can be irregularities in the weave and print, along with variations in batch dye colour. We have quality controlled this fabric. However, there could be minor irregularities that we love and see as normal and charming. If you are unhappy with the material you purchase, please let us know, and we'll do our best to rectify it immediately: email@example.com.
