Undyed Organic Cotton Voile320-018-VOILE-UNDYED-OTR
Price is per metre. Multiple quantities will be cut in a continuous length.
Open weave organic cotton voile with a matte finish and subtle texture. The fabric comes in it's greige state making it perfect as a base for dyeing or printing, along with being more eco friendly as it has not gone through finishing or dyeing processes including chemicals of any sort. It has a great drape as well as sheerness once washed.
Being 160cm wide, it actually has many applications including sheer curtains but works really well as a lightweight soft lining and making children's items.
The fabric is machine woven using GOTS-certified organic cotton so the farmers and cotton processors do not come into contact with pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilisers - and the cotton crop itself is non-GMO. The fabric itself is woven within a fair wage production unit. Being undyed in its natural state, there is no need for chemicals for finishing or dyeing.
Organic cotton is better for our soil, because no pesticides, chemical fertilisers or herbicides have been used. It means that there are no toxic substances passed on in the processing and then through to the finished fabric. Being undyed, this is a low impact fabric.
To care for your product:
Suitable for the washing machine and tumble dryer. As it is undyed, we highly recommend washing this fabric before you use it.
Turn the machine down to 30 degrees for a more environmentally friendly wash. In Europe alone, if every household turned its washing temperature down to 30°C, we could save 12 million tons of CO2 a year.
We also recommend line drying as this reduces energy usage and looks after your textiles for longer. Use a mild detergent, light botanical refresher or even just steam the item you've made in your bathroom after a shower. Iron on a standard cotton setting.
